On October 24th, it was revealed that MOON CHILD, a popular rock band that disbanded in February 1999, would hold a reunion live at the Akasaka BLITZ on January 14, 2013 in Tokyo. The group debuted in 1996 and in 1997, their song ESCAPE became a million seller hit, but the group regrettably disbanded shortly after. It appears that they have heard their fans’ endless wishes for a comeback.
Leader and drummer Kashiyama Kei (42) commented with, “A lot of time has passed since we disbanded, but there are still people who love our songs, which makes me feel very happy. I think it will become a live performance in which fans will feel how my fellow members and I have matured.” According to those close to the band, it has not been decided if the reunion would be just for one night only or they will continue playing together afterwards.
