Seoul-Eight sceneries of Bukchon (Bukchon Hanok Village)


Bukchon is wedged between Gyeongbok Palace and Changdeok Palace
 in the north of Seoul, and its captivating views over the curved tiled roofs of the traditional Korean houses( hanok) and the pretty patterned stone walls lining the narrow streets  with  modern towers and buildings attract people to come..

Anguk Station (Line 3), Exit 2.
Go straight for about 300m to arrive at Bukchon Hanok Village

Bukchon 1st View: Changdeok Palace View



You can see the best view of Changdeok Palace beyond the stone walls here.




Bukchon 2nd View: Wonseo-dong Arts & Crafts Alleyway



The view includes the patio of the Institute of Korean Royal Cuisine and the wall decorated with giwa (traditional Korean tile) patterns. If you go there you can take a look at the lives of the people who dedicated their lives to take care of the royal family.

Bukchon 3rd View: Gahoe-dong Museum Lane


You can see different kinds of museums and workshops of traditional craftwork here..

Bukchon 4th View: Gahoe-dong Alley






This place is where you can see wonderful views of the entire 31 Gahoe-dong area.




When you look around the Bukchon Hanok village please don't make a lot of noise because it's a residential area..

There's an array of antique hanoks( traditional Korean houses) in this area..

It's not as beautiful as the other Gahoe-dong alleys but its simplicity and quiet mood make it special..

Bukchon 8th View: Samcheong-dong Stair-Rock

 


There's a stonemade stairway conneting between Hwagae1 alley and Samcheongdong alley in this area and the stairs are made of one stone..

What's so special about this place is that as you look around the place you feel like you are in a different time zone right between modern Seoul and old time Seoul..
Thousand hearings are not worth one seeing!!
