Do you like this story?
Idols are currently running the Korean entertainment industry. Not only are they performing as singers, but they have broadened their fields into acting, entertainment programs, and other various areas.
Recently, idols have entered the OST (soundtrack) scene, striving with their primary talents as singers and making a huge impact in the system.
-The leaders of the Hallyu wave, Super Junior’s Ryeowook and Yesung
Yesung and Ryeowook sang the main theme songs for the Monday-Tuesday drama’s, SBS’s “Warrior Baek Dong Soo” and KBS’s “Spy Myung Wol”, respectively.
Yesung’s main theme song for “Warrior Baek Dong Soo”, “For One Day”, boasts an oriental tune that sketches the painful roads of the main characters, ‘Baek Dong Soo’ and ‘Yeo Woon’. The song is completed by Yesung’s unique soulful, polished voice.
On the other hand, Ryeowook’s “If You Love Me More”, the main theme song for “Spy Myung Wol”, is composed of a sorrowful, lyrical melody and beautiful arrangement, creating a ballad song that’s easy on the ears. The two songs instantly received a heavy amount of attention after release.
-MBLAQ drops their chic image and picks up sweet romance?
MBLAQ has taken part in the OST for SBS’s ”Scent of a Woman”. It seems that they will escape their traditional powerful, chic appeal and take charge of being the spark for Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Wook’s romance.
MBLAQ’s song, “You and I” is an acoustic love song that captures the sweet flavor of a man and a woman falling in love. The lyrics being something like, “You are heaven, you are my dream”, the lyrics give a feeling of the blissful moment of whispering words into a lover’s ears.
Because the ‘chic-dol’ MBLAQ are stepping into a new genre, people are anxious to see how MBLAQ will strive with their new love song.
-KARA’s Goo Hara releases her first solo track after debuting through her OST for “City Hunter”
Goo Hara revealed the title OST for SBS’s “City Hunter”’s final portion, which will also be her first solo track, “I Love U, I Want U, I Need U (Sweet Acoustic ver.).
The song is a love song that captures Goo Hara’s bubbly, sweet character as the president’s daughter in the drama. The acoustic guitar and bamboo drums, and the string quartet matches up with Goo Hara’s vocals and completes an appealing tune.
-KARA’s Park Gyuri forms a duet with Rainbow’s Hyun Young?
Gyuri and Hyun Young, the main vocals for their respective groups, have joined hands to take part in the OST for MBC’s “Love is Elsewhere” and received good reviews.
Gyuri and Hyun Young’s main theme track, “Indecisive” is an important part of the drama as it will be carrying its early stages. The live band sound and the flashiness dance music feel mix together to create a lively mood for the show. Gyuri and Hyun Young’s vocals join together with their different appeals and the track is expected to be the one to cool down this summer’s heat.
The idols aren’t just sticking to their comfort zones as they’re always reaching for new peaks to climb. They’re truly the ‘all-around entertainers’.
