Exploring Han River Bridges
Do you like this story?
At such a moment, Han River bridges are covered with a blanket of silence and the beautiful sunset makes harmony with lights passing by the bridges. As it gets darker, wonderful lights from cars and riverside buildings shine on our lives in Seoul.
There are 31 bridges over the Han River. We’d like to introduce some of the best bridges for beautiful night views.
1. Dongjak Bridge (동작대교)
The Dongjak Bridge carries road traffic and Seoul Subway Line #4, 9 and Dongjak Station is located at the southern end of this bridge. It is a blue truss bridge.
There are two coffee shops on the Dongjak Birdge. Gureum(구름) and Noeul(노을). The best part of going to the coffee shops when you see breathtaking night views of the Dongjak Bridge is that you can stay warm in Winter.
Direction: Subway line #4 Dongjak station(동작) exit #2
(As you exit out, you can see stairs to the bridge.)
2. Banpo Bridge (반포대교)
The Banpo Bridge connects Seocho and Yongsan districts. It’s famous for “Moonlight Rainbow Fountain.” The fountain has been registered the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s longest bridge fountain. It boasts fantastic beauty, changing its shape and color day and night. As a fancy music fountain show is held at nights, it is becoming a new attraction on the Han River among local and foreign tourists alike.

A section of Line#7 between Cheongdam Station and Ttukseom Resort Station runs on the underside of this bridge.
Another attraction near Cheongdam Bridge is “Jabollae Observatory”
Jabollae Observatory is one of the unique buildings in the shape of a Korean Jabollae bug.
It isn’t an ordinary Observatory but a multicultural complex with a multiplex housing 3D theatre, Digital Art Museum, Animation Studios, Gift Shops, Restaurants and Cafes.
