Hard Rock Cafè Firenze - Love All, Serve All

The first post in English of this blog couldn't be about anything but the (not so) brand new Hard Rock Cafe of Firenze, that is officially open since the last 4th of July (of course).
It seems that, after many years of struggle they finally managed to open the world-wide-famous chain in an also world-wide-famous (but not so big) Firenze.
I must confess that I was pretty sure there wouldn’t be many fiorentini (Florentines) going to the restaurant/cafe, but I was wrong. There are many Italians who, indeed, enjoy Hard Rock's style and food.
First of all, the food is not bad. Not at all.
That being said, Hard Rock food is good, with some quality ingredients. Of course they have a standard to look up to, so they are attached to it in many ways. This is a good thing on one side, because you can have more or less the same quality and products everywhere, but can be bad in many other ways... for example: the food somehow comes from London, so it is possible that you don't find a particular dessert for many days (or weeks) if they run out of it.
At Hard Rock the food is good, and so is the service. There are hundreds of people working there, and most of them are really nice, including the staff manager Maurice, who is Dutch but speaks really good Portuguese.
If you are willing to wait a little for your food and to pay just a little more than you would in many other restaurants (but far from the city centre, I must say), this is your place. The portions are big, and you don't have to worry about leaving still hungry, because that's not going to happen.
If you go there, I would suggest you to try one of the burgers, made with good minced beef, and the French fries are really good too. Then, for dessert, I would definitely recommend the chocolate peanut butter pie (for those who LOVE peanut butter), and the brownie with gelato dessert. Just don't have the cheesecake; it is not even close to the best....
So if you're tired of eating pasta and pizza and tired of the bad service, cover charges and so on, indulge yourself with (probably) the best served food you will find in Florence! Then you can spend the rest of the day rolling around, literally!
